Straight answers before you call.
Do I need a permit for a panel upgrade?
In most towns, yes. A panel or service upgrade usually needs a permit and an inspection, and often a short power shut-off arranged with the utility. We pull the permit and book the inspection as part of the job. Rules vary from town to town, so we confirm what yours needs when we quote.
How long does an EV charger install take?
When the panel has room for a new circuit and it isn’t far from where you park, it’s often a single visit. A full panel or a long cable run can add time, or mean a panel upgrade first. We check both before we quote, so you know which it is up front.
Why do my lights flicker?
Often it’s simple: a loose bulb, or a dimmer that doesn’t suit the bulb. If several lights flicker together, they dim when a big appliance starts, or a switch plate feels warm, it can point to a loose connection, and that’s worth having checked soon. If you notice buzzing or a burning smell, switch that circuit off at the panel and call.
How do your quotes work?
Tell us about the job by phone or with the quote request. Some jobs we can price from a description and a few photos; bigger ones need a look in person first. Either way, you approve a written price before any work starts. If we open a wall and find something that changes the job, we stop and talk it through with you first.
What should I do in a power outage?
Check whether your neighbors are out too. If they are, it’s likely the utility: report it to them and keep the fridge and freezer closed. If it’s only your home, check the main breaker and reset a tripped breaker once. If it trips again straight away, or you see damage at the meter or the line to the house, stay clear and call. Never go near a downed line.
Not sure what you need?
Describe the problem. We’ll diagnose it and give you a firm price before any work begins.
